The West Austin Youth Association (WAYA) is a privately funded, non-profit organization that was founded in 1981 to provide recreational opportunities for the youth of Austin. Today WAYA serves over 4,000 children annually with over 30 different sports and recreational activities.

Recent honors received by WAYA:

- Stanford University and Positive Coaching Alliance “Honoring the Game Award”(2007) This annual award recognizes excellence in educational-athletic organizations throughout the United States. WAYA is the only youth sports organization in Texas to receive this award and one of 16 nationally.

- Austin Chronicle Readers Choice Selection for “Best Youth Sports Program” (2005, 2006 and 2007)
