Eligible Participants

All boys and girls in grades K through 6.        

Age Divisions

Participants are divided by grade attending as of Fall 2010.

• Pee Wee - Kindergarten
  
• Minor 1 Division - 1st grade
• Minor 2 Division - 2nd grade
  
• Junior 3 - 3rd grade
• Junior 4 - 4th grade
• Senior Division - 5th & 6th grade

Skills Assessment

There will be not be a skills assessment for flag football!

Team Formation

All Divisions (3rd-6th grades): Teams will be formed by the league commisioners and the WAYA staff with special attention to requests, schools, and zip codes.  If you have a request, please note it on your registration form.  This in no way guarantees that WAYA will be able to fulfill your request.  Pre-formed teams with completed registration forms and  payment will be accepted.  

**Team max will be 10 players.

Season Info:

Game day for Pee Wee thru Junior divisions is Saturday and will begin on Saturday, September 18. Game day for Senior division is Thursday and will begin on Thursday, September 16.

Pee Wee division will include 6 games with 2 weeks of once a week practices prior to the start of the season; after the initial 2 weeks, practices will be held prior to the games.

Minor, Junior, & Senior divisions will include 8 games plus a bowl game with 2 weeks of once a week practices prior to the start of the season; after the initial 2 weeks, practices will be held prior to the games.

*Games will be held at the WAYA complex at 1314 Exposition on Brumley Field, or at the WAYA Fields located at 1200 W. Cesar Chavez on Bechtol/Harper and McEachern Fields.

Scholarship Policy

The West Austin Youth Association offers every child the opportunity to participate regardless of skill level, talent or financial need. Scholarships are available for each sport and program that WAYA offers. To obtain a scholarship, you must complete the registration form for the sport or program, complete a scholarship request form and return them both to WAYA prior to the registration deadline. All scholarship requests made prior to the registration deadline will be honored; there will be no scholarships given to requests made after the registration deadline. Once the registration deadline has passed, WAYA will contact scholarship participants to notify them of their scholarship amount. Scholarship money is allocated at the beginning of each fiscal year and the amount awarded is based upon the number of requests made per sport. 
 

Cancellation Policy

In the event of cancellation, a full refund will be given to those that cancel their registration prior to the registration deadline. Once the registration deadline has passed, a processing fee of $25 will be retained by the West Austin Youth Association. After the first game, registration is closed and refunds will not be awarded. Special cases must be approved by the Executive Director and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
