Seasons

WAYA offers coed soccer in the Fall and the Spring.  In the fall, the season begins when school starts and runs for 8 weeks.  In the Spring, the season begins right after spring break and runs for 8 weeks, ending by the time school lets out for the summer.  All games are held on Chalmers or McEachern Field and practices can be held on Saturdays or Sundays. Fields are located at 1200 W. Cesar Chavez, weather permitting.

Team Formation

Teams will be formed by league commissioners and WAYA staff with special attention being given to schools and zip codes. If you have any requests please note it below and rank their importance by writing 1,2,&3 next to the choices. This in no way guarantees that WAYA will be able to fulfill your requests. I request that my child be placed on a team with: Coach_____________ Player_____________ School______________ Please only one request per catergory.

Each team in the Developmental and Pee Wee Divisions can have a max of 12 players per team. Each team in the Minor Divisions can have a max of 10 players per team and the Junior Division teams can have a max of 12 per team. 

Playing Up

Participants with a higher skill level or experience may "play up" in an older division with the permission of the league commissioner. Children who are not 4 years of age by the February 22 deadline will not be allowed to play during the spring season. Insurance does not cover and is not intended for those who do not meet the minimum age requirements.

Scholarship Policy:

The West Austin Youth Association offers every child the opportunity to participate regardless of skill level, talent or financial need. Scholarships are available for each sport and program that WAYA offers. To obtain a scholarship, you must complete the registration form for the sport or program, complete a scholarship request form and return them both to WAYA prior to the registration deadline. All scholarship requests made prior to the registration deadline will be honored; there will be no scholarships given to requests made after the registration deadline. Once the registration deadline has passed, WAYA will contact scholarship participants to notify them of their scholarship amount. Scholarship money is allocated at the beginning of each fiscal year and the amount awarded is based upon the number of requests made per sport.

Cancellation Policy

In the event of cancellation, a full refund will be given to those that cancel their registration prior to the registration deadline. Once the registration deadline has passed, a processing fee of $25 will be retained by the West Austin Youth Association. After the first game, registration is closed and refunds will not be awarded. Special cases must be approved by the Executive Director and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
